SOMEbody out there!!!!

Can anyone help me please?I bought the game 3 weeks ago, since then i was enjoying it much, when a problem appeared. When i am trying to get into the old camp(particularly the place where the mages are) it gets me straight to desktop and i get an error message(access violation)

I tried everything =>> downloaded the latest patches for the game (gothic 1.08k),the latest drivers for my graphic card, reduced the revolution, increased the virtual memory, did a defrag etc. BUT NOTHING HAPPENED!!
Help me anyone please,i paid almost 40 euro for this game and i feel very sad and dissapointed (thinking seriously if i will ever buy again a game from this company=xicar)
My system : P3 800,
128 RAM,geforce2 gts
directx 8.1,soundblaster live!

Whatīs the error message?
Many people reported Gothic runs more stable with at least 256MB RAM.

Try to set the sound off. In the Gothic.ini find a line "sound enabled - 1" and change 1 to 0. Should help.

PS:I tried also to disable the sound (from gothic.ini) but nothing happened,
is it possible a fault of the memory?how can this be?the dvd case refers to 128mbyte low requirements, which i have that amount of memory.I also want to say that i reinstall the game but the problem still exists

On your error message, you just said in the beginning:
128MB of RAM
and then
2MB left...sounds to me like you need more RAM Try upgrading to 256.

Also try reinstalling DirectX 8.1! and do it now!

2MB left of physical memory shouldn't a problem (except for performance) because there is enough virtual memory available.
The reason for the crash above is an missing sanity check in the collision system. Therefore I need to know if this is always the reason for the crash (crash-logs are saved in gothic.rpt).

Do i need to buy more ram?the game reguirements refer to 128mb ram,if so why didnt they mention 256 ram in the dvd case?Anyway i sent email to the company (xicar) but they didnt reply yet(obviously they wanted to create a game full of bugs-without caring about the technical support). Moreover, i ought to say that the game runs normally in the other camps(new and swamp camp),but when i want to enter the mages position(in the old camp)i get acces violation.Thank you all for your interest

ps.its really a pity!Gothic is truly a magnificant game but u cant play it cause of bug-full reasons

Contacting Xicat!
Did you send NicoDE the file he requested?

RAM:
Gothic runs with 128MB.
But IMO itīs way faster with 256 or 384 MB because the swapping to the harddisk stops.

Try updateing all you drivers that are involved with the game, try downloading the lastest directx files if you havent already, and if all else fails, reinstall Gothic.

Well, he's kinda' busy, with Gothic 2 coming out n' all that. But if anyone can help ya, he sure can!

Xicat? They're the publishers, can't solve any in-depth tech.

Strange. Normally Nico is very reliable. Maybe he was busy when it arrived and then somehow forgot about it.
Did you try to remind him?

The tasks i have made since the problem appeared are:
reinstalled directx 8.1 and installed again(moreover i tried many versions of directx on my system),install all the latest patches for gothic, updated graphic and sound drivers, disabled sound(with mod player kit or through gothig.ini file),increased virtual memory, reduced graphic revolution. As you can see i tried anything!!!! my system: P3 800,geforce2 gts, soundblaster live,128 mb ram.directx 8.1.
I assume that 128 ram is not the cause of this problem-the game runs smoothly until that part i mentioned before, furthermore there werent problems on the other games i play(with 128mb)-morrowind,dungeon siege.
Nico sent me e-mail that he could fix a binary form the beginning of the previous month, but since then i havent heard anything from him(however he wrote to me that he had a lot of work those days)
Now i am sad about the money i gaved for that rpg,and thinking serious if i ever buy gothic2 or any game that piranha will release.
Thanx for your interest guys, any possible help is wellcome.
