anyone else experiance long loading times? saving is long as well but tolerable. is it just that the gothic world is so big that slows it down or is it just me and my old os (winME(installed 4 months ago))? i'm pretty sure is just the vast world cause in the old mine or orc cementary cave it's ALOT faster to save and a little faster to load in those zones. i was just wondering if there was a way to load savegames faster.

The complete world is loaded, so your observation was correct. The only things you can do to speed up loading/initialisation times are technical stuff like defrag, a large swapfile, buy a second (and faster) harddisc, free more RAM, etc.

How would a large swap file speed up loading?

How wouldn't it? A large swap file will mean less time waiting for a smaller one to be filled and re-filled.

I noticed that 1.08k patch helps to load and save WAY faster.
