Trapdoors, theif skill, Spawny and Tok.

I started the game over and I have a few unanswered questions:

  • Why are there trapdoos everywhere and do you ever use them? With the exception of ONE time in the game I never used any. Therefore, what exactly is the point of them?

  • I'm having trouble with the pickpocket skill. I have enough points but when I "bump" into someone I cannot get their pockets 'open.' How is this done?

  • In the 'fort' across from The Yellow Tulip, formerly Rose, there is a huge piggy named 'Spawny' and a chicken named 'Tok.' Why? There are no other animals with names other than the chicken (reveal spell) in the crypt. The names pop up when you double-click on them.

BTW, I did a search of the forum for all of these answers and the only thing close was about the pickpocketing skill and I still couldn't figure it out.

Thank you in advance. I've been wanting to ask these questions but I know how sick and tired you can get by people asking so many silly questions. But, I can't help myself. I need to know! Please!

Going to bed so I can goof off in the morning and play the game again!

Ok, I finally learned what I was doing wrong with pickpocketing.

No takers on the trapdoors or animals, eh? Well, can anyone direct me to a website that can answer those questions?

I thought maybe the animals are either a designer joke or a special quest or spell need.

The trapdoors are simply baffling to me. I would think that if they had no use then they shouldn't be clickable.

Anyway, TIA ~T

Sorry, I just got here. The trapdoors I can answer for you. Originally they were to be a part of the game, with access to the sewers. However, time and money stepped in and this feature was never implemented, but the trapdoors were left in. In one of the later patches, 1.15 I think, they no longer appear active. Hope that helps.

That helps my curiosity much and I thank you! Hmmmm, seems another Jowood game had this $$$ issue too. Gothic had a whole area with bandits unfinished. Made for a few extra exp points though.

Thanks again!

No answers on the Spawny pig and Tof chicken, eh? LOL! I guess this will bother me until I die. LOL!

Send an email to Julien at Arkane. He'll know the answer for you.

Good idea! I'll do that as soon as I get the nerve up. LOL. After all it's not really a game-worthy question, I know.
