Gilbert + strange cave

When you 're in the valley of mines, you can climb up to the cave where Gilbert was in Gothic 1. Now you can find a letter of him. Is he anywhere in the game or is he someone we will see in the Add-on or Gothic 3?

Another thing : I found a strange cave. It was near the circle of sun. You walk down the stairs (where you pass another cave system), you kill a couple of wargs and wolves. After that you stay close to the hill, until you meet some lizzards. In this area there are a lot of dead bodies. When you look close now you 'll find the cave I was refering to.

I cheated my way into the cave and I found out that the cave was previously occupied by a wine brewer. (You 'll find a book over there) Is this cave part of a quest or not?

I Think the book you are refering to is called the spirit of the wine and actually you don't need to cheat i belivie that there is a wench left of the gate and i never found a quest related to that book but if i was you ill wait for another reply just in case im wrong

You wont find gilbert in gothic 2 probably in the addon
yeahh only 24 days and 19 hours and 9 minutes till i hold it in my hands

you dont need to cheat to repair the wench and open the gate you need molerat fat

you either get it from the ship or from ehnim at akils farm in chapter 3
if you made the quest the two brothers in chapter 1

did you know that you can get as a fire mage in chapter one ligally at the ship try it nice dialog with the ship guard
