Getting past the guards to the city - bug?

Did anyone notice that you can just walk right past the guards that are at the entrance to the city?

I did it twice, but I'm not sure how exactly...Is this a bug or meant to happen?

I think it has to do with getting one guard away from his post, then just walking through the gate and somehow the other guard doesn't notice you..

Hmmm, Yep it does look like a bug/problem with the game.

All you have to do is not look at the guards and they dont talk to you. So you can walk right past the guards (and probably anyone else)

You can do this with the guards in front of Lord Hagens place as well!

I wonder if this will break part of the game though...

But you still have to become a citizen to get into the upper quarter, because the guards there are placed where you cant walk past them.
