Newbie question on sicknesses

I noticed that a few of my attributes are red but i've tried some restore attribute potions and it didnt go up, not only that but I was fighting a great ghoul i think (or someother undead creature, i wasnt sure) and after I killed it it put a spell on me so that my strength went way down and I couldnt carry anything, I tried potions like greef but it went up and then went back down in like a minute. what do I do ?

You need to quaff(sp?) a potion of Restore strength. Or make a "donation" at a shrine and chose restore attributes option. If you don't know how to find a shrine, use Almsivi(sp?) or Devine Intervention scrolls that will get you to the closest Imperial Cult or Temple shrines.
