Yes, there were bugs in previous M&Ms, show stoppers even. You know, when I first played Might & Magic 9, I stuck up for it, but I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone, the bugs are annoying, I mean time wasting annoying. And that is due to the fact that they still haven't fixed the horrible scripts in this game. Stupid bugs like the ship captain disappearing. I will say this, the dungeons in the game are very good, and I like the way they set the skills up. But other than those two things, this game is rather stinky.
Mandate of heaven, or even For blood, and honor are much better to recommend. I guess it all depends on taste. |

I enjoyed the game but would have enjoyed it more without the annoying bugs.
With MM6-8 I played the games through at least a second time to explore alternative options, classes etc but have not bothered to do that with MM9.
Mind you I'm not sure if that says something about MM9 or the number of other quality CRPG's crying out to be played at the moment. |

Sadly, I agree with you and Black_Lord...wait a minute Gothmog and Black_Lord in cahoots? Didn't Tolkien do that? Sorry I could not resit.
I am almost done w/ mm9 and have no plans to replay it...in part due to the other options, but also, in part due to the incompleteness. If NWC had had the time to complete the game I am sure I would feel differently. But world just feels too empty, and it keeps reminding me of what it could've been.
I have been a fairly staunch supporter of this game, but the good parts are make the rest of it look bleak. How often does a game make itself look bad by comparison? |

I liked part 8 better. The world graphics are not so bad in this new one but why did they have to make the character screen so ugly - after the lovely character and inventory screens I saw in 8 it was a big disappointment to me. Also the writing seems a little bit simplistic, like they just tell you everything straight out instead of having mystery.
I don't think Wizardry8 was better though, the combat system in that game was enough to make me slit my wrists - as least in M&M you have the option to go to real time instead of having mindnumbing turn based combat with 10 spiders each taking their move, then the next, then the next..... |

You should have tried Wiz8's continuous combat mode. Turn-based combat in Wiz8 could get tedious for the impatient, but there was an alternative that might have made the game more enjoyable for you. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Sorry. No pearls of wisdom in this oyster.
