If u joined the OLD CAMP as a shadow and u can become a guard now, talk to thorus about becoming a guard but tell him you wanna be a mage.
Go an' speak to Corristo downstairs and then do his test !!
If u pass he'll go upstairs then to be a mage you normally follow him but DONT!!!!
Go back to Thorus. Tell him you wanna be a Guard. He'll let you in!!!
Do what you want until the end of ACT3 and then go to corristo upstairs in the temple and join the mages!!!.

I tried that. My game didn't give me any time to react or walk away between talking to the High mage and becoming a mage. I tried it three times with the same result every time. But I've noticed my game gets "stuck" in a dialogue loop quite often when talking to people, so maybe that's why I couldn't do it. |

Hi all,
I know this works cause I've managed to do it too. My problem however is that I want to be a Warrior-Mage and I find that I have a problem with the SkillPoints. I'm currently with a Guard, One-Handed and CrossBow Master but only trained in Two-Handed and Bow and with only 60SP I'm afraid I'd either be a lousy Warrior (Two-Handed and Bow at trained only) or a lousy FireMage (not enough SP's to learn Magic Circles) Any ideas? Other than cheating that is
Regards,

There are hardly enough skill points to learn all 6 circles and the weapon skills. It is possible to ramp up Str., though. Then you can wield every melee weapon. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Well, if I can't have both 6th Circle of Magic and be a Master of everything.. tell me what you think of this:
1) Try to be a Master of Two-Handed and CrossBow only and a Mage.
2) Try to be a Master of all but use just Spell Scrolls for magic.
Again, doing this w/o cheating...

it is possible to become a great warrior and mage at the same time. ...but the thing is....it takes time. I managed to learn all 6 circles, have enuff mana for any spell, master both 2h and Xbows, only trained in 1h and bow (though don't you think it's really only needed for the beginning of the game anywayz?) and have 118 strength (it might have been more or less...and that is without using any amulets or rings. ...just by using XP points and then all the potions i have found and used them to put myself past 100) and my dext was way past 55 which is really all that's needed anyways. So it is very possible to become the highest magician; Necromancer, and an incredibly well trained warrior. One note though. ...i did have to take advantage of the game a little by going into the Sleeper's temple for the first time and keep using 1 of the 3 stones that is used to keep teleporting in lesser demons (using the wrong one in the sequence of colors each time). ...it took me a while but eventually i went from lvl 36 to 41 and used up every XP point i could in the process.
