Nobody sleeps.....At night all they do is sit in a chair and stare at the wall? Sometimes they'll walk over to their beds and sleep for 1 or 2 sec. and then get back up and go over to their chair again....Something wrong with my copy? |

No...
Behaviour and AI of this people is not good. I must say it is one of worse features in Gothic.
(F. e. you can rob their chests before their eyes if you only become member of their camp etc.)

I agree, what they should do is have totaly independent NPC, like he has to do all the stuff to survive and get stuff like if u drop something someone will pick it up and so on. |

Well, they also could have made everyone stand in one spot 24/7, no sleeping or eating or playing instruments, only them standing there to act as your message board for the next quest. The fact that they wash up, cook, have conversations, do daily routines in a 3D environment (Even BG didnt let their npcs do this stuff and they are 2d) was enough to floor me.
Or hey, maybe their have insomnia, maybe they got a lot on their minds...*Shrugs*
Well here's something to be said for the AI:
I left the old mine from killing the queen and was heading to NC (must have been 5:30am, skies were just starting to get bright) I run into the old cave and the only people out were chronos, the acrobatics trainer and the mages guards...everyone single other NPC was sleeping (in their room)
At first I thought "S*it, something crashed, now I have to re-load" but sure enough, I went into each and every room and there they all were. Very eerie seeing that entire cave so empty.
Sometimes its best left to the gamers imigination too. To have the npcs go into their huts at nightfall is good enough for me, to actually make them sleep was probably a scripting or ai issue...who knows. |

Yeah, you cant really complain about how realistic the AI is in this game. I've never seen any better, and even if there is, Gothic's is still amazing.
