Help!! I just started!!

What do I do at the beginning?!!!! I find this game boring!! Also someone told me I can do 3rd person view!! If true how?! I just finished the quest of finding the guy and giving him a document and going to Balmora, now I have no clue what to do, I joined the Fighters Guild.

Assuming that you are playing the PC version of Morrowind, third person view can be obtained by pressing the tab key....Didn't you look at the manual? Can I assume that you also purchased the game?

Let's see...

First thing to do is skim through the manual - that'll give you a few ideas of things to do, and help with keyboard commands and whatnot.

Third person view is kinda funky but a bit hard to control in my opinion - some people like it though. Enable it by tapping TAB. Hit TAB again to disable it. Alternatively, hold down TAB and move your mouse to get a view around your character - great for taking screenshots!

Things to do:

1) Go back and talk to Caius (the guy you delivered the document to). Join the Blades and hear a bit more about your mission. The first thing he does is give you some cash, so even if you don't want to do any missions for him for now, take his money anyway!

2) Talk to Fire-Eye by the top entrance in the Fighter's Guild and ask about Orders. The first mission is quite simple but may take a few goes before you get used to combat. Do a few missions for her, asking about Advancement periodically. Don't worry if she gives you a mission that's too much for you, just leave it and come back to it later when you've gained a few more levels.

3) Browse the Balmoran shops - there's some good stuff there to buy. Rich pickings upstairs in shops if you like to thieve - but be aware of the consequences! Ask the local guards about the Law, and what happens to thieves if caught...

4) Return to Seyda Neen and explore the area. There's a lot of adventures to be had around that little town. E.g., go into Arille's Tradehouse and talk to the guy at the top of the stairs. E.g. 2, ask people about local rumours. E.g. 3, explore the area and gather ingredients from plants and fungi - sell them to Arille or attempt to mix them into potions.

5) Get some money together to buy some good armour and a weapon you're proficient in. Go out hunting Mud Crabs, and Slaughterfish if you're careful.

6) Buy yourself a Mortar and Pestle and try mixing some potions (instructions are in the manual). You'll probably not be good at it to start with, but you'll get better with practice.

7) Go exploring! Find a path leading out of town, save your game, take a deep breath, and walk out into the unknown. There's a lot of land to cover, and a lot of things to do out there. There are many adventures beyond the cities - go seek them out.

That should get you going. Don't forget to save often - I recommend using Quicksave frequently and also saving specifically to named files every few hours, just in case.

Compass?

There's a map in the bottom right hand corner of your screen - the arrow inside it is you, and North is at the top. Yep, it's basically a compass!

Ebony mines from Caldera is an odd one. You have to go out the North gate, and cut across the hills directly outside. Head South West, avoiding or killing the beasties that lurk around there, until you get to some sharp pointy rocks. Make your way through these (there's an easy route through) and onto a path, which you need to follow East. Pretty soon you be at the mines.

HTH.
