Larian Studios has released three new <a href="http://www.larian.com/riftrunner/screenshots2.php" target="_blank">screenshots</a> from its stand-alone 'Divine Divinity' spin-off 'Riftrunner'.

Hmmmm, not too sure about this one.

As much as I wanted to like Divine Divinity, I found it all a bit too Diablo like with its endless clicky combat. Not very tactical at all. I didn't even finish it, which is rare for me.

I know there was a lot of varied quests (unlike Diablo), but it just seemed a bit "lite". Also it got stupidly easy by about level 20 or something.

It certainly has action combat and I can understand that some players are put off by this - but it really is a deep, interactive, non-linear world. Much more so than many other RPGs that seem more "hardcore". And Riftrunner should improve on these elements with a party, better balance, new skill system and so on.
