Atari Closes Old MicroProse Studio

According to Gamespot, Atari closed the studio once known as 'MicroProse' today. The link to RPGs might seem a little tenuous on this story but their last project was the recently-released D&D: Heroes. Few older gamers wouldn't fondly remember MicroProse for famous franchises like Civilisation, X-Com, MOO and others.

We got closed long ago--

This is just the last dregs being shut down.

The Microprose (formerly SimTex) studio that produced Master of Magic and Master of Orion and Civ 2: Fantastic Worlds and 1830 et al. was shut down way back in 1998.

But still, sorry for those who got the final cut. Hopefully though, those who did it to us had it done to them. It's a vicious business.
