Latley I launched BGII again and I started to play with my 25lv mage. At some point of the game Edwin joined my party, he was only level 13 or something like that. When I looked at his spellbook I couldn't belive it, Edwin could memorize over 6 first and second level spells ( I don't mean that he could put over 6 spells in his book I mean that he could cast over 6 first level spells without resting ). While my character could memorize only 6 first and second level spells. My mages Int was 18 ( same as Edwin's ) and my Wis was 18 ( more than Edwin's ) and my mages class was the same that Edwin has ( master summoner or how is it translated ). I couldn't understand it so I downloaded Shadow Keeper and I gave my mage 25 in dex, str, int, wis, char, con but still I couldn't memorize more then 6 first level spells. I tried everything but still Edwin was better. And as far as I remember later in the game Edwin could memorize more high level spells than other mages. Is there something I'm missing? Or did the Devs simply give this guy so much power??? |

its been a while, but doesn't he have some equipment that allows him to memorize extra spells? Or am I thinking of someone else in a completly different game? Which I may well be. |

I checked this in the first place but no, he has nothing on him ( except for his necklace but you can't take it off, and in the description of the item there is nothing said about giving extra spells ) |

It doesn't say it, but the necklace IS the source of his exra spell capacity. It's a very VERY potent Red Wizard of Thay item. "Family Heirloom" my butt... he stole it from a much more powerful Red Wizard, which is PROBABLY why they're after him all the time.
It's why he's so possessive about it.
Your mage will never be as good as Edwin as long as he possesses that artifact. That's what makes him the most powerful wizard in the game. _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

These were my worst fears. I can't be more powerfull then Edwin without cheating
I guess I'll have to use the "finger of death" spell on him so I can be the best
What will happen if I use Shadow Keeper to give my mage Edwin's amulet, will he gain powers like Edwin?? |

Possibly... I've never tried it. If I feel really jealous I just fireball him and dump his body in an alley... _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi
