My first impressions were very positive. The game looks absolutely amazing. The at-sea portions of the game in particular are very visually impressive. The world map (well... the Caribbean map) is especially appealing. Rather than a static map, the game's designers chose to go with a fully 3d map. In fact, to get from port to port requires you to sail there through the map. Large text can be seen under the water's surface, just like with a real map. Each island has its name floating over it in a style that screams "Our dev team loves Monkey Island!" Some questioning confirmed that this was, in fact, the case.
