RPG Vault has their next Captain's Log for Pirates of the Burning Sea and offering "Flying Lab's Russell Williams on the current milestone, navigation zone, interfaces and looking for a larger office":As I write this, we've just frozen to finish the current milestone. This is a particularly exciting one as it sees the arrival of the real navigation zone. In Pirates of the Burning Sea, the navigation zone is the high-level view of the Caribbean that abstracts our travel time. Rather than spend an hour staring at the empty ocean, you now spend five minutes sailing to your mission, during which you see lots of land, both player and NPC ships, and opportunities for ad hoc adventures. The whole Caribbean is represented in the navigation zone, and it can be sailed corner to corner in 55 minutes. When you're actually in the navigation zone, the speed feels great. Islands are big (sailing past Cuba is amazing), it's a beautiful view, and watching the other ships (friend or foe?) is great. |
