Ex-Anachronox programmer Joey 'chinaman' Liaw has posted a patch update to the PlanetAnachronox forums yesterday. In it he explains that he is still working on version 1.03 of the game.
A short reminder: After Anachronox' release Ion Storm Austin (developer) was shut down. Just like any new game Anachronox was, of course, not bug free but Ion Storm said there'd no longer be any kind of support for Anachronox.

And now read for yourselves:
    so, i'm not dead.
    and neither is the patch.

just slow. didn't have time to work on anox, what with moving/new job until last week. and, i'm not even sure if there is a clause in my contract that says doing things like this is no-no. sigh...

i'm sure that people will still have minor requests after the patch, especially people who are making mods and such: change requests to the api, or bugs they find when they use ape in new and unusual ways. so, i will hope to get eidos to give me permission to release "unsupported beta-type" patches in the future without having to get permission for each release. we shall see.

the first time we submitted anachronox patch #2 to eidos, we called it 1.02. so, my upcoming submission will be called 1.03.

just for the curious, here are the status of the bugs eidos rejected our patch with.

bugs that existed prior to 1.02 now fixed in 1.03

    - hive minigame sometimes stops allowing player to target health boxes after several replays

bugs introduced in 1.02 now fixed in 1.03

    - negative width 2d graphics did not correctly appear reversed (fixed this week, new in 1.02). most notably affected battle booty screen.

bugs present in 1.02 that have not yet been researched

    - sewagic/sunder escape mini-games do not properly stop ambient sounds, drowning out subsequent cinematics.

    - strange ambient sounds in scommons and slounge (after hive queen killed)

    - after exiting routubes from ruhk's first sender station quest, debug mode warning is activated.

    - falling through elevator shaft in bricks taxi service

    - patching an non-full-install fails miserably, erases user camera settings, and invalidates savegames from upper fortress and fortress.

bugs present in 1.02 that were not reproducible

    - alpha-sorting problems in hephfactory, warshipbay, levant. however, hephfactory did need some more textures added to alphatest list in textureinfo.

    - alt-tabbing out of the game crashes anox.

some things i've done recently that aren't related to eidos-rejection bugs includes fixing some minor bugs in certain ape functions that affect an entity's color and speedup in drawing of alpha-blended surfaces that have large areas of transparency (ie particles). also added a cheater detection mechanism, so that people who don't realize that cheating in the game will probably crash or screw it up later on, get a friendly reminder every time they change levels. and so i can reject savegames that were created by cheating.

well, thanks for your patience, all. i'll post another update at the end of the week, since if i have free time to waste typing messages, i should be working on the patch instead.....
