Thre dev log updates happened at the site for Pirates of the Burning Sea: Augustus, Heidi and Rev wrote something about their progress in the game development or personal things. Here's a part of what Rev had to say:
I'm about done with my spec work for this milestone. Taylor's in the same boat (har har!) and we keep conferring about the various bits we're working on.

The main spec I've been dealing with is Companies & Navies. This defines how these organizations work in the game, including cool stuff like what kinds of ships you get to sail at different levels of success with the org and what your titles are. We're using historical titles for each navy, though in the interests of consistent leveling we've been selective here and there about which titles to use and what ships they get you.

I also worked on the UI Dialogue spec. This covers audio cues you get from your first mate about events in the game. We're trying to keep this somewhat spare so you don't constantly hear the same "Aye, Captain!" line. You'll only hear from your first mate when something important happens that you probably aren't immediately aware of, like sighting a ship on the horizon or when you lose a cannon in battle. We had a review meeting on this spec today that went well and generated some really helpful feedback. In the next milestone I'll be scripting the dialogue, hiring actors, and recording all this stuff.
Once again, here is a shameless plug for MMORPGDot, for a more in-depth MMORPG coverage (some UO and Dransik news to be found there for today, for example).
