EDBIS: What will the physics of sailing be? Will people use trade winds and tide patterns to sail? Will weather have an effect on the game, and will there be major weather events like hurricanes and droughts?
FLS: We have a very detailed weather/sail system of interaction that supports real-world sailing maneuvers. For example, the process of tacking your ship is based upon the rigging of your sails (square, triangular, how many sails, etc.), your momentum (to take you through the tack), and the quality of your crew (who adjusts the sails as you tack). Playing the wind is a major part of ship handling, and will depend upon the skill of the players.
