IGN Vault has conducted an interiew with Turbine's Jeff Anderson about their upcoming MMORPG Dungeons & Dragons Online. Well, not really an interview, but a short article based on one (and - to be honest, a rather unrevealing one). Here's something for you:
Turbine has been talking to Atari and Hasbro for about a year and a half about the possibility of developing Dungeons and Dragons Online. They procured all the necessary agreements and started design approximately 3 months ago. Among other things I'm sure we'll be told in the future, Turbine hopes to give players more stories than other MMORPG's have delivered. Opening chests and breaking barrels and cool boss battles are all things that Jeff Anderson believes would make an experience better for online players. He wants to refocus on the RP part of ORPG's and "make a compelling experience for people." For example, rats won't be major enemies. "The only rats you will see in [Dungeons and Dragons Online] will be 3" tall." |
