Game Chronicles Magazine has a preview of D&DO based on their time in the beta:The fact that DDO: Stormreach is basically a way to go and play regular old Dungeons and Dragons anywhere, anytime, with or without the usual suspects, is probably its single best feature. It helps to see DDO as a tool for playing a game with other people, rather than an MMO in the classic sense. It's more along the lines of Magic: the Gathering Online, or even an online player-vs.-player chess program. There are extensive tools for finding a group in this game, including the usual bulletin board-type window and a Marked for Group feature, as in some other MMOs, that lets other players know at a glance if you're looking for a group or not. |
