The newly re-launched Gamemethod has posted an article by the CEO of MMO hosting company Hypernia, entitled The Glorious Path to Massively Multiplayer Success:A popular question often asked by entrepreneurs is “Is this going to work, or will I have to sell my kids for food?”

The answer is “Yes!”

You will succeed and you will have to sell your kids for food, there’s no way around it… unless of course you keep reading.
Like any startup, Massively Multiplayer online games (MMOG) have plenty of risk involved, at least in the creation phase. The bad side of MMOG development is that you’ll spend years building it with no guarantee of success… just like a movie! Who said you’d never experience Hollywood? To get into the market and be successful in running an MMOG you’re going to have to work hard, do lots of homework (yuck!) and make the right decisions.
