D&D Online: Beta Impressions @ GamerGod

GamerGod has posted their initial impressions of the D&D Online beta "experience".
First things first, it was time to make a character. My race options were Human, Dwarf, Halfing, Elf, and a new race I had never heard of before, the Warforged. Those looked to be some kind of metal golem man. Selecting a race displayed a wealth of AD&D information about what it was to be a member of that race, much of which I recognized from source books. That's right, Elves get a perception bonus and can wield rapiers, longswords, and bows without additional training. My class options were Barbarian, Warrior, Paladin, Cleric, Wizard, Sorcerer, Rogue, Ranger, and Bard. No Monks, but I supposed I couldn't blame them; Monks were just a tad too uber for their own good.
